About

Bootgazer is an independent record label based in Austin, Texas. It’s something we’re building alongside our band, Midseason, as we work toward releasing our first full-length record. What started as a way to put out our own music is slowly becoming something more—a label, a platform, maybe a small community—for the kind of sounds we’re drawn to.

That includes post-rock, ambient, shoegaze, experimental music, and the stranger edges of country. We’re figuring it out as we go, but we know we’re interested in music that feels cinematic, melancholic, expansive, rooted—stuff that’s hard to describe but easy to feel.

As we began shaping the Midseason record, we reached out to a few labels to talk about our goals. A couple of those conversations ended with the same suggestion: maybe you should do this yourself. That stuck. Not just because it made sense, but because it pointed toward something bigger than our band. A place where other artists might one day release their work, too. A place that could grow into its own thing.

The name Bootgazer is a loose mix of references—partly borrowed, partly just something that sounded right. We're in Texas. That probably has something to do with it.

We’re still early. Right now there’s a hat for sale, music in the works, and some ideas about what comes next. More to come.

It’s all still becoming. But if you’re into these kinds of sounds—or curious about what this might turn into—we’d love to have you around.
